Monday's Vegan Suit: Antonio Melani Suit

Via Dillards. I don't know how I feel about how double-breasted jackets such as this one look on me, but I love the idea of such jackets, especially one with buttons set semi-close like this one. The shawl collar is a great added touch, and the black/mist herringbone wide-stripe pattern gives the suit an updated look.

The jacket pairs with a vest and wide-leg pants. The vest boasts seven closely-set buttons, small front pockets, and a hardware buckle detail on the back. In addition to the wide legs that pair nicely with the double-breasted jacket, the pants have cuffs and an extended-tab waist.

Monday's Vegan Suit: Men's Suits via Nordstrom Sale

Nordstrom is holding its men's half-yearly sale. There are two full suits on sale that are vegan. Unfortunately, both of them are in "lucky" sizes:

John Varvatos Star USA three piece suit in a light tan cotton: suit includes jacket, pants, and matching six-button vest with back-buckle tie (pictured left). I've blogged about this vegan suit before. As noted previously, obviously the vest is the best part of the suit. The suit originally was $795 and is on sale for $593 (33% off).

Ben Sherman "Kensington" suit in a rust-tinged blue (pictured right): suit includes two-button jacket and matching flat-front trousers. It's difficult to find a vegan suit for men in a dark color, which makes me love this suit by default. The suit is made from a cotton and nylon blend. Monday's Vegan Suit: John Varvatos Three-Piece Suit

For men! Via Nordstom -- a three piece suit (jacket, vest, pants) available in the pictured tan (very spring / summer appropriate). The suit is made from cotton. Monday's Vegan Suit: Diane von Furstenberg Bianca Suit

This off-white suit definitely is a late spring / summer suit, perhaps not court or really, really important meeting appropriate, but perfect for those scorching summer days when a suit is necessary. And it's part of Diane von Furstenberg's Spring 2009 Runway Show! The wide, drapey legs on the pants, the matching vest with the four perfect buttons and cute pockets (clearly something needs to go under that vest), and the contrasting jacket with a single button closure -- how can you not want this suit . . . right now!

Each piece is made from 65% linen, 32% viscose, and 3% elastane. The jacket is $425 (here); the matching vest is $198 (here); and the pants are $265 (here). The vest and the pants also come in khaki and deep sea -- although the jacket only comes in the off-white pictured.
