Vegan Purchase: Slippers Via Target

Not exactly designer, but I was browsing through Target this weekend for cleaning products to pick up dog hair, and I passed these clog slippers that look more to me like go-on-the-street shoes and had to get them. I purchased them in the pictured grey cable knit (here). Who can resist grey cable knit? Though, perhaps, that does make them more like slippers than actual shoes. The slippers also come in a deep chocolate brown cable knit (here), a brown-pink-white plaid (here), and a black-purple-white plaid (my second favorite - I'm a sucker for purple) (here). They are made from faux-suede, faux-shearling, and textile uppers and bottoms -- vegan! They are a very doable $16.99.

Inspired by Neiman Marcus Offer

Neiman Marcus is running an online only offer from Dec 8 (today) - Dec 10 (wednesday): spend $400, get $100 gift card toward future purchase. Code to use at checkout is: NMJOY.

Spending $400 at Neiman Marcus isn't hard. Here are some items that themselves would get you the discount, although I think they are all wildly expensive (though fun to browse):

1) Badgley Mischka Platinum Label Lace Dress (pictured left): Neiman Marcus categorizes this dress as a "dinner party" dress. I like the v neckline that is not overly deep and that the dress is decorated with subtle black beads. The dress is a cotton /nylon blend and the lining is polyester. It's $495.

2) David Meister One Shoulder Cut Out Dress (pictured right): Neiman Marcus categorizes this dress as a "cocktail hour" dress. I love the cut-out and the one shoulder neckline. The dress is a rayon / nylon / spandex blend. It is $410.

Yes, both those dresses are not office appropriate; they are more New Year's Eve or other holiday party appropriate.

3) Not an item of clothing, but I really like this iPod / iPhone docking station (pictured left): Bowers & Wilkins iPod Docking Loudspeaker. I think I mainly like that it looks like an elongated football wearing a watch. And that it's a sleek black. The docking loudspeaker is $599.95. There also is this alien looking Roth Audio MC4 and OLI1 Speaker; it's $699.99 . . . not that any of us have that much money we are willing to part with on an iPod docking station in this economy . . . or, at least, perhaps we shouldn't.

And, finally, one other item that I find interesting: Kate Spade Cable Slipper (pictured right): these slippers come in the pictured pink/red or off-white/orange. They are made from cotton and the lining is faux fur. The slippers are $88.
